WATCH viral video: Odisha woman who fell into river while clicking selfie

Sundargarh: A video of the young woman who drowned in Ib river while clicking selfie on a mobile phone went viral on social media. In the video, the young woman, Anupama Prajapati (27) from Kumbharpada in Rajgangpur area of the district along with some other women was seen taking selfie on a stone in the river bed.

The video further shows when a youth jumped to the stone on which Anupama was standing, he somehow lost balance and pushed the young woman. Subsequently, she fell into the river and swept away in the water current.

After 22 hours of the mishap, the Fire Service personnel fished out Anupama’s body some three hundred meters away from the spot on January 4.

Anupama along with her family members visited the tourist spot for picnicking on January 3. She fell into the river when she was clicking selfies on a mobile phone standing on the stone.

The young woman’s engagement was held two months back. She was scheduled to marry on February 16.
