Weather Alert: Heavy rain, lightning in 17 Odisha districts today

Bhubaneswar: Heavy shower accompanied with lightning is likely to lash as many as 17 districts across the state today.

As per the latest bulletin issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) regional centre, moderate thunderstorm and lightning with moderate to intense spells of rainfall is likely to continue at some places over the districts of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Dhenkanl, Anugul, Cuttack, Khordha including Bhubaneswar, Puri, Ganjam , Gajapati, Nayagarh, Kandhamal and Raygada today.

The weather condition will prevail till 1.15 PM.

The weathermen also alerted that low lying areas of in the Twin City of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack are likely to be submerged due to heavy rain.
