Weather Alert: Heavy rainfall likely to lash these Odisha dists today

Bhubaneswar: Several districts of Odisha are likely to experience heavy rainfall today due to the formation of a low pressure area over north Bay of Bengal and neighbourhood. The system is likely to become more marked during the next two days, the Regional Meteorological Centre forecasted.

Heavy to very heavy rainfall very likely to occur at a few places with extremely heavy rainfall at isolated places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Angul, and Deogarh, the Meteorological Centre predicted and issued ‘Red Warning’ for the districts.

Likely Impact:
1-Waterlogging and flash flood in some places.
2-Some damage to informal road and kutcha house.
3-Traffic congestion and disruption of municipal services due to waterlogging in urban areas.
4-Landslides in hilly areas.

Orange Warning: Heavy to very heavy rainfall very likely to occur at isolated places over the districts of Puri, Khurdha, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Sonepur, Boudh, Bolangir, and Kandhamal.

Yellow Warning: Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at isolated places over the districts of Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Kalahandi, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Nuapada, Nawarangpur, Malkangiri, and Koraput.
