Weather alert: Odisha to witness very heavy rainfall in next 3 days

Bhubaneswar: The Indian Meteorological department has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall in many parts of Odisha for next three days, owing to low pressure likely to form over northern Bay of Bengal in the next 24 hours.

Bhadrak, Jajpur, Dhenkanal, Kendrapara, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Angul, Deogarh, Sambalpur, Kandhamal and Malkangiri will experience very heavy rainfall between June 30 and July 1.

Similarly, very heavy rainfall and thundershower is also likely to occur between July 1 and July 2 in one or two parts of Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Sonepur, Boudh, Gajapati, Ganjam, Rayagada, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Nayagarh, Cuttack, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Jajpur, Sundargarh and in other parts of the rest of the districts, as well.

The IMD has also issued heavy rainfall alert in parts of Jharsuguda, Sundergarh, Bargarh, Nuapada, Bolangir, Kalahandi, Nabarangpur and Koraput between July 2 and July 3.

Fishermen are advised not to venture into sea from June 30 to July 2. Those in deep sea are advised to return to coast by tonight.
