Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted thundershower and lightning is likely to lash several parts of the state till March 24.

The IMD also issued Yellow Warning (thunderstorm, lightning and gusty surface wind) for several districts during the period.

As per a bulletin:  

From 1.30 pm, March 19 till- 8.30 am, March 20: Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at many places over the districts of interior Odisha, south coastal Odisha and a few places over the districts of North Coastal Odisha.

(Yellow Warning) Thunderstorm accompanied with hail, lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Bargarh, Sonepur, Bolangir, Boudh, Kandhamal and Ganjam.

- Thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind with speed reaching 30-40 kmph is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundergarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Nuapada, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Kalahandi, Rayagada, Nayagarh, Khurdha and Puri.

From 8.30 am, March 20 till- 8.30 am, March 21:

Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of south Odisha and north coastal Odisha and at one or two places over the districts of north interior Odisha.

Thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Koraput, Rayagada, Ganjam, Puri, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Kandhamal and Kalahandi.

From 8.30 am, March 21 till- 8.30 am, March 22:

Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at many places over the districts of coastal Odisha, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Mayurbhanj and at a few places over the rest districts.

Thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and gusty surface wind with speed reaching 40-50 kmph is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundergarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapada, Rayagada, Kandhamal, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Khurdha and Puri.

From 8.30 am, March 22 till- 8.30 am, March 23:

Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of south coastal Odisha, Kandhamal and at one or two places over the districts of north coastal Odisha, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Dhenkanal, Koraput, Malkangiri, Kalahandi, Boudh. And, dry weather is very likely to prevail over the rest districts.

Thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and gusty surface wind with speed reaching 30-40 kmph is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts Of Kandhamal, Ganjam, Nayagarh, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapada and Jagatsinghpur.

From 8.30 am, March 23 till- 8.30 am, March 24:

Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of coastal Odisha, Koraput, Malkangiri, Keonjhar, Kandhamal, Mayurbhanj, Rayagada. Besides, dry weather is very likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha
