Weather Alert: Thunderstorm alert issued for 17 Odisha districts today

Bhubaneswar: Thunderstorm accompanied lightning and moderate rainfall is likely to occur at various places across 17 districts in the State today.

As per the latest weather bulletin issued by the regional MeT Department here, 20 districts, including Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Dhenkanal, Angul, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Jharsuguda, Sundergarh, Khordha, Cuttack, Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Ganjam and Nayagarh would experience moderate to severe thunderstorm along with lightning and moderate rain till 8.30 PM today.

Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that a low pressure is likely to form over Bay of Bengal around September 18 which would trigger heavy rain at several places across the State.
