Bhubaneswar: With incessant rain wreaking havoc in almost all parts of State for the last two days, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) regional centre has again issued thunderstorm alert for 16 districts today.

As per the latest weather bulletin, thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and an intense spell of rainfall would occure at various places across districts like Sundergarh, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Balangir, Sonepur, Boudh, Kandhamal, Bargarh, Nuapada,Khordha,Puri,Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Deogarh, Kalahandi and Kendrapara till 2 PM today.

Meanwhile, all Anganwadi centres and schools here have remained closed as per the the State government’s direction due to rain. Besides, Collectors of four districts-Bhadrak, Kendrapada, Sundergarh and Kandhmal declared holiday for schools today.
