Weather Alert: Thunderstorm, lightning likely in 26 Odisha districts today  

Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) regional centre here alerted thunderstorm alert for as many 26 districts in the State today.

As per the latest weather bulletin issued by the MeT department, thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and moderate rainfall is likely to occur at various places over districts Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Dhenkanal, Angul, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sundergarh, Boudh, Sonepur, Balangir, Nuapada, Khordha, Cuttack Puri, Malkangiri, Koraput, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Jajpur, Ganjam, Gajapati and Rayagada till 7.30 PM today.

The weathermen said 12 districts of the State received sporadic rainfall during the past 24 hours with Jharsuguda recording highest 4.4 mm rainfall. The State recorded average rainfall of 0.6 mm today.
