Bhubaneswar: With the Shashthi of Durga Puja festival falling on October 20, Odisha is likely to experience dry weather from the very day till October 22, the Regional Meteorological Centre here forecasted today.
However, rainfall may occur in coastal Odisha during the subsequent two days-- October 23 (Navami) and October 24 (Dussehra), the Meteorological Centre predicted.
As per the India Meteorological Department (IMD), a low pressure area is likely to form over the Bay of Bengal around October 20.
"The cyclonic circulation over Southeast Bay of Bengal & adjoining Andaman Sea now lies over Southeast Bay of Bengal and extends up to 4.5 km above mean sea level. It is likely to move northwestwards and under its influence, a Low Pressure Area is likely to form over central parts of Bay of Bengal around 20th October," the agency said.
