Weather forecast: Heavy rainfall alert for 20 Odisha districts

Bhubaneswar: Heavy rainfall is likely to lash many parts of Odisha for the next two days, as per the weather forecast of Indian Meteorological Centre.

Parts of Angul, Balasore, Bargarh, Bhadrak, Boudh, Cuttack, Deogarh, Dhenkanal, Ganjam, Jajpur, Jagatsinghpur, Jharsuguda, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Kendrapara, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Puri, Sambalpur and Sundergarh will experience heavy to very heavy rainfall.

Similarly, thunderstorm accompanied by lightning is likely to occur over the districts of Bargarh, Bolangir, Boudh, Deogarh, Ganjam Jharsuguda, Kandhamal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Nayagarh, Nuapada, Sonepur and Sundergarh.

These weather conditions are predicted to last till 8:30 am tomorrow.

Similarly, Bargarh, Boudh, Bolangir, Deogarh, Jharsuguda, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nabarangpur, Nuapada, Sambalpur, Sonepur and Sundergarh districts will witness heavy to very heavy rain between June 22 and June 23.

Due to low pressure in the Bay of Bengal, gusty wind speed at 50 kmph is also predicted. Therefore, fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea in the next 48 hours.
