Weather forewarning: Spells of heavy rain to batter 19 Odisha districts today

Bhubaneswar: With the formation of deep depression over northwest Bay of Bengal off north Odisha, as many as 19 districts of Odisha will witness spells of heavy rain and thundershower today, as per Indian Meteorological Department forecast.

Few spells of intense rainfall are likely to plummet parts of Bhadrak, Bolangir, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Gajapati, Ganjam, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Keonjhar, Kendrapara, Khordha (including Bhubaneswar), Koraput, Nabarangpur, Nayagarh, Nuapada, Puri and Rayagada.

Furthermore, these areas will also witness moderate thundershower and lightning, according to the latest weather bulletin.

Such weather conditions are likely between 2 pm and 5 pm this afternoon.
