Weather update: Rains to lash these Odisha districts today

Bhubaneswar: The Regional Meteorological Centre predicted rainfall accompanied by thunderstorm in Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Sundergarh and many places of coastal Odisha today. Also, light to moderate rainfall is likely to occur in Ganjam, Puri, Gajapati, Kalahandi, Nabarangpur and Koraput districts.

Gusty wind with speed of 40-50 km per hour is likely to blow in many places, the meteorological centre added.

Similarly, one or two places in Rayagada, Gajapati, Nuapada and Kandhamal districts will experience light to moderate rainfall on March 9.

Holi spirit is likely to dampen as the meteorological centre predicted rains along with hail in Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Jharsuguda, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Sonepur, Bargarh and Sundergarh districts on March 10.

Light to moderate rainfall will be experienced in Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Sundergarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Sonepur, Boudh, Bolangir, Kandhmal, Angul, Dhenkanal, Rayagada, Bhadrak, Balasore and Jajpur districts on March 11 and 12.

It further forecast that light rainfall is likely to occur in some parts of the State on March 13 and 14.

The Meteorological Centre advised fishermen not to venture into sea till March 12.
