Weather update: Thunderstorm warning for these Odisha districts

Bhubaneswar: Amidst panic situation for the expected cyclonic storm FANI, the regional meteorological centre predicted thunderstorm for several districts today.

"Moderate thunderstorm/lightning with moderate rainfall and gusty wind speed reaching 40 to 50 kmph gusting upto 60 kmph is likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Cuttack, Khordha, Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Nayagarh and Kendrapara between 5.00 pm and 8.00 pm, the Bhubaneswar MeT said in a release.

Meanwhile, the extremely severe cyclonic storm FANI over westcentral Bay of Bengal is approaching towards Odisha coast with wind speed 15 kmph. It is likely to hit Puri district between 8.00 am and 10.00 am on May 3.
