Weather warning: 18 Odisha districts to experience heavy rain, thunder today

Bhubaneswar: Rain showers continue to batter the coastal state of Odisha, as the Indian Meteorological Department has forecast heavy rain and thunderstorm in as many as 18 districts of the state today.

Moderate thunderstorm and lightning will occur in parts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Cuttack, Gajapati, Ganjam, Jagatsinghpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Kendrapara, Keonjhar, Khordha (including Bhubaneswar), Koraput, Malkangiri, Mayurbhanj, Nabarangpur, Nayagarh, Puri and Rayagada.

These areas will also receive spells of intense rainfall, according to the latest weather bulletin.

Such weather conditions are likely between 4 pm and 7 pm this afternoon.
