Weather warning: Heavy rain to pound several Odisha districts in next 2 days

Bhubaneswar: Heavy rainfall is likely to pound several districts of Odisha today and more showers are expected in next two days.

The Regional Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar, has issued yellow warning for many districts for three days starting from today.

Further, light to moderate rainfall or thundershower for the districts of south interior Odisha and few places in rest of the districts  is in the forecast till June 7.

Here’s Weather forecast and warning for districts of Odisha for next five days:

Day 1 (valid from 1330 hrs IST of June 2 upto 0830 hrs IST of June 3)

Forecast: Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at many places over the districts of South Interior Odisha and at a few places over the rest districts of Odisha.

Yellow warning: 1. Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Kandhamal, Ganjam, Gajapati and Boudh.

2.Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati,Sonepur, Boudh, Nuapada, Balangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Angul.

Day 2 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of June 3 upto 0830 hrs IST of June 4)

Forecast: Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at a few places over the districts Odisha.

Yellow warning: 1.Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Nabarangpur, Koraput, Kalahandi.

2.Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Dhenkanal, Koraput, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Nabarangpur.

Day 3 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of June 4 upto 0830 hrs IST of June 5)

Forecast: Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of South Interior Odisha and at one or two places over the rest districts of Odisha.

Yellow warning: Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Nuapada, Balangir, Sonepur, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and Deogarh.

Day 4 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of June 5 upto 0830 hrs IST of June 6)

Forecast: Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Koraput and Malkangiri and at one or two places over the rest districts of Odisha.

Day 5 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of June 6 upto 0830 hrs IST of June 7)

Forecast: Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Rayagada and at one or two places over the rest districts of Odisha.
