Weekend shutdown restrictions relaxed in these parts of Odisha in view of I-Day celebration

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government today announced it would relax weekend shutdown restrictions in four districts and one municipal corporation area on August 15 in view of the Independence Day celebration.

As per an order issued by the Special Relief Commissioner’s Office, the weekend shutdown imposed in Ganjam, Khordha, Gajapati and Cuttack districts and the Rourkela Municipal Corporation will be relaxed till 11 am on August 15.

The decision has been taken to allow citizens to unfurl the National Flag at their premises with the condition that not more than ten persons will congregate at any place.

The order further stated all safety protocols such as social distancing, wearing masks, proper sanitization shall be duly maintained during the I-Day celebrations.

The State government had earlier declared a weekend shutdown in the four districts and Rourkela Municipal Corporation area to contain the spread of COVID-19.
