Bhubaneswar: The well marked low pressure area over coastal Odisha moved northwestwards and now lies over interior Odisha and neighbourhood, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said in its morning bulletin today.

The system is likely to move northwestwards across Chhattisgarh and weaken gradually into a low-pressure area during the next 12 hours, the agency said.

Under its influence, several districts of Odisha may experience rainfall today.

The Regional Meteorological Centre here in its evening bulletin yesterday had forecasted in this regard.

"Heavy rainfall (7 to 11 cm) very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Bolangir, Nuapada, Kandhamal, Deogarh, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, and Kendrapada," the Meteorological Centre predicted.
