What almanac predicts about Odisha in next one year

Bhubaneswar: On the occasion of Maha Bisuba Sankranti which marks the beginning of Odia New Year, Khadiratna Panjika (almanac) was released in Odisha’s holy town Puri today.

Special rituals were performed in Jagannath temple in Puri with recitation of the almanac before the presiding deities.

Astrologers, spiritual gurus and priests, apart from general public, refer to almanac to know about the auspicious dates and Odia calendar in general.

Astrologers and pundits predicted what Odisha and India has in store in the next one year.

As per the transit, Sun enters the sidereal Aries and begins its year-long trip across all zodiacs.

“There will be chaos, confusion and high-drama in politics in the state. But, the government would be stable. The government would give focus on education and healthcare in the coming year. We can expect a bumper crop this year, despite possibility of natural calamities,” Dr Naresh Chandra Dash, eminent astrologer expressed.

Speaking on similar lines, a member of Mukti Mandap Pandit Sabha (a body of religious scholars of the 12th century shrine) predicted not so remarkable year for state as well as country.

“The almanac predicts decent economic growth for state as well as nation. The financial state of affairs will have positive outlook, considering the present scenario,” Jagannath Mohapatra, general secretary, Mukti Mandap said.

Some almanacs released during Dola Purnima had too predicted flood-like situation in state during July-August this year.
