Bhubaneswar, May 18:
In the backdrop of WannaCry ransomware infecting computers at various places in the state, the BJP lost no opportunity to hit out at the Odisha government today for appointing Sam Pitroda as its Technical Advisor.
The BJP questioned about the whereabouts of Pitroda at this critical hour and sought his dismissal.
“Where has state government’s IT Advisor gone? His whereabouts are not known at this juncture. We had brought this to the Chief Minister’s notice this week only. We demand the state government do away with the system of appointing a non-resident and non-working advisor. We demand his immediate dismissal,” said BJP spokesperson Sajjan Sharma addressing a press conference here.
It may be recalled here that the BJP had a few days back held a rally at the Station Square here demanding removal of Pitroda from the post of Technical Advisor.
On the other hand, the BJD has said that the Crime Branch has already taken up the case and alerts have been issued.
“Crime Branch is already on the job. All have been put on alert at the district level wherever there is a possibility of such attack. Since Crime Branch is inquiring into the matter, very soon the criminals will be detected. This is an across the globe problem. Our Crime Branch is well-equipped to tackle the problem,” said BJD spokesperson Amar Satpathy.
