Widow gang-raped for two days in Odisha; minor boy among three held

Keonjhar: A widow was allegedly kidnapped and gang-raped in a forest for two days in Odisha’s Keonjhar district while police have arrested three persons, including a minor boy, in this connection.

According to reports, the accused trio abducted the victim, a vegetable seller, from Gurdwara Chhak in Barbil when she was returning from Koida market in Sundargarh district on June 3. They forcibly took her in an SUV to a forest near Mundanala under Barbil police limits.

The three allegedly raped the woman in the forest for two days. They also threatened her not to reveal the matter before police and looted Rs 13,000 from her possession.

The victim later managed to escape and lodged a complaint with police on June 5.

Acting on the complaint, police today arrested the minor boy and two others, identified as Akshay Ojha and Rishi Tarua. All of them were forwarded to court.
