Widow’s half-charred body found near NTPC, foul play suspected

Talcher: Police today recovered half-charred body of a widow woman lying near boundary of NTPC plant under mysterious circumstances here.

The deceased was identified as Sabita Nayak of Rangabeda village in Angul district.

The prima facie indicated that the woman has either committed suicide or she has been murdered.

According to reports, Sabita had been staying at her father’s house since her husband’s death in 2011. The family members found her half-charred body near the boundary of NTPC this morning.

The locals informed the police following which the body was sent for postmortem.

Police suspected that Sabita was murdered somewhere and body was set on fire near the NTPC boundary.
