New Delhi, Dec 23:
The BJP is confident of getting a clear majority in Jharkhand and forming a stable government, state party president Ravindra Kumar Rai said Tuesday.
Rai told IANS over telephone from Ranchi that the Bharatiya Janata Party had expected a two-third majority in the 81-member assembly.
“We were hoping to get a two-third majority but have fallen short of the 50 seats we were hoping to win,” Rai said, as counting of votes showed the BJP and its allies were headed for a near majority.
Out of 81 seats, BJP has won in 41 followed by JMM with 18 and Congress 8 till reports last came in. (IANS)
