Will lockdown restrictions be relaxed in Odisha? Here’s what top official says

Bhubaneswar: With continuous decline in COVID-19 daily infections in Odisha, the unlock process to reopen activities and movement of people may be considered by the State Government in coming days.

“The current positivity rate is nearly 10% in the State. If the decline trend continues, lockdown restrictions can be relaxed gradually,” said State Health Director Bijay Mohapatra today.

Worth mentioning that Odisha has been witnessing a dip in single-day COVID infections in a past week.

In view of it, it is assumed that the lockdown restrictions may be relaxed bringing a great relief for people.

The lockdown in the State is already in force till June 17 since May 5. As the positivity rate was above 10%, the State Government extended the restrictions by two more weeks with effect from June 1.
