Will possible cyclonic storm over Bay of Bengal impact Odisha?

Bhubaneswar: A possible low pressure area to form over Bay of Bengal towards May 10 is likely to intensify into depression or cyclonic storm.

As per a Global Forecast model of the US, the possible cyclonic storm in the Andaman sea is likely to make a landfall at Yangon in Myanmar on May 12.

However, the cyclonic storm will not have any impact on Odisha or neighbouring West Bengal, the forecast model indicated.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) is yet to issue forecast on the possible cyclonic storm.

Earlier, the weathermen said that the cyclonic circulation is likely to form over south Bay of Bengal around May 10 or May 11. It is not likely to intensify into a cyclonic storm.
