With 326 new cases, COVID-19 tally surpasses 20,000-mark in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: The COVID-19 cases surpassed 20,000-mark in Bhubaneswar city with 326 new positive cases reported in the last 24 hours, informed Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) today.

With fresh infectees, the  COVID-19 tally mounted to 20,219, of which 3612 are active cases in the State capital.

The local contacts continue to rise in Bhubaneswar as compared to the quarantine cases. Of new  326 cases, 256 are local contact cases and 70 cases have been reported from different quarantines.

Among the new local cases, 20 more persons have tested positive for COVID-19 in Patia area in a single day. Similarly, 11 fresh cases have been detected in Nayapalli area in the last 24 hours.

Meanwhile, 392 more COVID-19 patients have recovered from the disease in the city today. With this, the number of recovered cases rose to 16,511. The virus has claimed 80 lives in Bhubaneswar so far.
