With 495 new COVID-19 cases in Odisha, tally surges to 8601

Bhubaneswar: With 495 new COVID-19 cases in last 24 hours in Odisha, the total count surged to 8601, informed State Information & Public Relations Department today.

Of fresh cases, 355 cases have been detected from quarantine centres and 140 are local contacts. The new positive cases were reported from 24 districts.

Out of new positive cases,  Ganjam district registered the highest number of 216 cases followed by Khordha and Sundargarh districts with 50 and 36 cases respectively.

13. Kendrapada: 11
14. Keonjhar: 5
15. Khordha: 50
16. Koraput: 5
17. Malkangiri: 5
18. Mayurbhanj: 28
19. Nawarangapur: 11
20. Nayagarh: 1
21. Puri: 18
22. Sambalpur: 6
23. Sonepur: 2
24. Sundergarh: 36

With this, the number of active cases now stands at 2853 and the recovered cases in the State is 5705.
