Bhubaneswar: The ruling BJD as well as Opposition BJP exuded confidence of forming government in Odisha soon after the completion of third phase polls in the state today.
Fifteen of the 21 Lok Sabha seats and 105 of the 147 Assembly seats in Odisha have so far gone for polling in three phases. Voting for the remaining six Lok Sabha and 42 Assembly seats in the state will be held on June 1.
Soon after casting his vote in the capital city here today, BJD supremo and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik exuded confidence that his party will retain power in Odisha.
“I expect the BJD to have a great victory in both Assembly and Parliament elections in Odisha. With the blessings of the people of Odisha and Lord Jagannath, we will form a very stable government in the state,” Patnaik told the media.
BJP leader and Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said his party is confident of forming the next government in Odisha.
“Our leader Narendra Modi will form the government at the Centre for the third time in a row. All 21 Lok Sabha MPs from Odisha will join the Modi government. The BJP will also get majority in the Assembly polls and form government in Odisha,” said Pradhan after casting his vote here today.
