Wolf suspected to be Niali sheep killer caught

Bhubaneswar: An indian wolf, suspected to be the animal behind the sheep killing incident in Nilai area of Odisha’s Cuttack district, was today caught from a shed at Nakadiha village under Nimapada police limits.

The wolf, a female one, has been brought to Nandankanan Zoological Park here for treatment, informed zoo’s Deputy Director Jayant Kumar Das.

The animal has sustained injuries on legs and face, said Dr. Sarat Kumar Sahu, Veterinary Assistant Surgeon, Nandankanan.

Worth mentioning, panic had gripped Nilai area due to deaths of large numbers of sheep in the area.

The Forest department, despite several attempts and strategies, had failed the trace the killer animal/animals.
