Women attendants thrash patient at Odisha's SCB hosp, video goes viral

Cuttack: A video of two women attendants allegedly thrashing a patient at SCB Medical College and Hospital in Odisha's Cuttack has gone viral on social media.

In the video, the attendants were seen beating an elderly man at the destitute ward of the hospital. The clip surfaced on social media platforms and did the rounds.

A team of the OHRC led by member Asim Amitabh Das today reached the hospital and initiated investigation into the matter. He held discussion with the patient, authorities of the concerned department of the hospital, security officers and attendants.

Taking suo moto cognizance of the incident, OHRC has registered a case in this connection. The accused attendant and a security guard have been disengaged from service.

On the other hand, the accused have refuted the allegations saying that they were only trying to stabilise the patient.
