Woman axes husband to death in Odisha’s Jagatsinghpur

Jagatsinghpur: A woman allegedly axed her husband to death at Sadeipur village under Balikuda police limits in Odisha’s Jagatsinghpur district late last night.

According to reports, a dispute was prevailing between accused Kabita Samal and her husband Sushant Samal over the latter’s consumption of liquor. She claimed that her husband used to thrash her after consuming liquor.

Enraged over the matter, the woman hacked him with an axe around 2 am. Sushant sustained critical injuries and died on the spot.

Acting on a complaint lodged by the deceased’s brother, the Balikuda police have detained Kabita for questioning and started an investigation into the incident.
