Woman buries husband in house in Odisha’s Nayagarh; police starts exhume of body after 20 days

Nayagarh: A man was missing for nearly the last 20 days from Komanda village under Odagaon police limits in Nayagarh district. However, police started exhuming the man’s body today evening after his father alleged that he was killed and then buried in his house by his wife for reasons not known yet.

The deceased was identified as Prakash Nayak, who belonged to Komanda village.

According to a source, acting on an FIR lodged by the accused’s father-in-law, police launched a probe into the allegation and started exhuming the man’s body in the presence of Odagaon Magistrate. Suspecting a foul play by the accused woman, her father-in-law had lodged the FIR.

A platoon of force has been deployed in Komanda village to keep the law and order situation under control. The exhuming of the deceased’s body was underway till the time when this report was filed.

Police are being assisted by a scientific team in the detailed investigation.
