Woman cop tests COVID-19 positive in Odisha

Puri: A woman police official put under home quarantine has tested positive for COVID-19 in Puri district, a source informed today.

The police official currently posted as the Sub-Inspector (SI) of Brahmagiri Police Station had come in contact with a theft accused, who had tested positive for COVID-19 earlier.

According to reports, the woman police official was among 13 police personnel, who had been sent to home quarantine, after they arrested the theft accused under Brahmagiri Police Station area.

The swab samples were collected from the quarantinees and sent for COVID test. The result of woman police came out positive on Wednesday.

Yesterday, 23 police personnel were sent to home quarantine after two thieves lodged at Kanas and Gadisagada police stations were tested COVID positive in Puri district.

Today, 16 fresh cases of COVID-19 have been reported from Puri district in last 24 hours. With this, the total number of COVID cases in the district rose to 204 with 101 active cases and 103 recovered cases so far.
