Woman daily wager dead after speeding KTM bike hits her in Odisha’s Jharsuguda

Jharsuguda: A woman was killed on the spot as a speeding KTM bike hit her today afternoon on the overbridge near Old Bus Stand under Town police limits in Jharsuguda town of this district.

The deceased woman was identified as 45-year-old Ranjita Pradhan, who belonged to Rangiapada of Badheimunda locality of the district.

The middle-aged woman was working as a daily wager to eke out her living and support her family.

Based on an FIR lodged by the woman’s husband, Town police registered a case and launched a probe into the fatal road mishap. Police have sent the body to hospital for post-mortem.

“We have seized a motorcycle having no number plate from the accident site and detained its rider. The accused youth is being interrogated to gather more information,” a senior cop expressed.

Ranjita was on her way back home and was walking down the road on the overbridge after her work hour was over when she met with an accident leading to her death, the cop added.
