Sambalpur: In a tragic incident, a woman and her daughter were killed and two others of the family sustained critical injuries after a wall of their house collapsed at Densargi village under Ainthapali police limits in Sambalpur district late last night.

The deceased have been identified as Chanchala Pradhan and her daughter Bhagya.

Sources said the incident occurred at around 1 AM yesterday. While the two were asleep, a portion of an adjoining under-construction house suddenly collapsed on their house due to heavy rain. While Chanchala died on the spot, her daughter succumbed on the way to hospital.

The rest two critically-injured persons were later admitted to hospital for treatment.  On receiving information, police reached the spot and have started investigation in to the incident.
