Nabarangpur: In a shocking incident, a woman reportedly died after she was treated by a quack in Kosagumuda block of Odisha's Nabarangpur district here today.
The deceased was identified as Dayamani Bisoi (55) of Chirma village in the block. As per reports, Dayamani felt sick in the morning and complained of headache after which her husband Buxi Bisoi took her to an alleged quack Samaru Harijan in Karchamal village. Harijan, after examining Dayamani, gave her some medicines and even administered an injection. However, Dayamani's condition suddenly worsened and she died within minutes of injection administration. Unable to process the sudden turn of events, the accused medical practitioner panicked and allegedly tried to lure Buxi with money to stop him from talking about the incident.
But Buxi went ahead and called up his younger brother who then informed relatives and filed a police complaint alleging that Harijan's medical negligence and administration of wrong injection led to Dayamani's death. Police reached the spot and have started investigation. The accused will be arrested after probe, they said.
