Woman finance company employee murdered near office in Odisha’s Deogarh

Deogarh: A woman employee of a finance company was allegedly killed by two unidentified miscreants in front of the office on Pradhanapata Road in Odisha’s Deogarh district, last night.

The deceased was identified as Rita Sahu of Kuchinda area in Sambalpur district.

According to reports, Rita was leaving the office and heading towards her rented house on a scooter at around 11 PM, during which the two accused attacked her with knife and wooden plank.

As she fell down, the assailants crushed her head with stone and fled the place.

Hearing her screams, staffers of the office rushed to the spot, rescued the victim and took her to the Deogarh District Headquarters Hospital here.

However, doctors declared her dead at the government healthcare facility.

Police have started an investigation into the incident while efforts were on by cops to identify and apprehend the attackers.

The reason behind the attack was yet to be ascertained.
