Woman gives Rs 1 lakh ‘supari’ to kill husband in Odisha capital

Bhubaneswar: Extra-marital affair made a woman hire a ‘supari’ killer to eliminate her husband in the state capital.

Though the murder plan was foiled, victim Binayak Behera, who works as a senior section engineer at Mancheswar Railway Workshop, suffered grievous injuries in the attack made by contract killer Jitendra. Meanwhile, police have arrested the contract killer and accused woman’s paramour Ashok Sahu.

Sources said the accused woman Twinkle had developed illicit relationship with her husband’s driver Ashok of Hatatota area in Angul. To eliminate her husband, the woman had given Rs 1 lakh ‘supari’ to Jitendra.

As per the murder plan, Jitendra and his aide had made a murderous attack on Binayak near Sport Complex in Mancheswar on April 16. However, few youth rescued him in critical condition and admitted him to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Later, the victim lodged a complaint against all three at Mancheswar police station, following which  the cops raided an apartment and nabbed Ashok. The cops also arrested the contract killer. However,  Twinkle is still at large.

During interrogation, Ashok confessed to his crime.

Police are on the lookout to nab others involved in the attack.
