Woman hacked to death by son in Odisha’s Kendrapara

Kendrapara: In a tragic incident, a woman was allegedly hacked to death by her son over family dispute at Dumuka village under Derabish police limits in Kendrapara district last night.

The deceased has been identified as Tulasi.

Sources said Tulasi’s daughter was staying with her mother after leaving his in-law’s house. Tulasi’s son Kamalakant had been opposing this and both the mother and the son used to fight most frequently over the issue.

Yesterday, both started arguing over the same issue when Tulasi’s husband and daughter were not in the house. In a fit of rage, Kamalakant killed his mother with a sharp weapon. Kamalakant later told everyone that her mother died after falling from the roof of the house.

Suspecting his involvement, Derabish police detained Kamalakant for interrogation, during which he confessed to the crime.

Further investigation into the incident is on and the accused will be produced before court soon, police said.
