Woman jumps off after boarding wrong train in Odisha; rescued by RPF constable

Bhadrak: A woman, who had boarded the wrong train going on another route and later alighted from the moving train, risked her life in a hurry at Bhadrak railway station in this district. However, the alertness of an RPF constable saved the woman and a fatal mishap could be averted.

The entire act has been captured on a nearby CCTV installed on the railway station premises. The incident occurred a few days ago but the video footage went viral on social media today.

Praise is being heaped on the cop by people from all sections of society for his presence of mind.

According to a source, the woman from Balasore was waiting for the MEMU train to go to the district but mistakably boarded a passenger train on the intervening day. She enquired about the route of the running train which was on its way to Jajpur. After she was confirmed that the passenger boarded the wrong train, she jumped off it. The constable Pratap Chandra Giri saved her life by reaching on time.

Pratap was on duty at the platform of Bhadrak railway station, the source added.
