Woman Junior Engineer found dead at rented room in Odisha’s Ganjam
Bhanjanagar: A woman Junior Engineer (JE) was found hanging in a rented room in Bhanjanagar area of Ganjam district. In presence of a Magistrate, the local police broke open a locked room at Landei Sahi Unit-3 under Bhanjanagar police limits and recovered the woman Junior Engineer’s body.
The deceased, identified as J. Anita aged 34 was working as a Junior Engineer of the Rural Development department in Bhanjanagar. She hailed from Berhampur.
The woman’s father, J. Subarao said her mobile phone was switched off since yesterday. But her neighbours in Bhanjanagar said she did not open the room’s door since past two days. They then informed the woman’s family members who reached Bhanjanagar today.
As foul smell was emanating from the room, the local police was informed. The police broke open the room’s door in presence of Magistrate and Additional Collector Bikash Chandra Bhoi today. The woman’s body was found hanging from the ceiling with a cloth.
Reason of the death is yet to be known and investigation into the matter is on. An unnatural death case no 21 was registered at Bhanjanagar police station, said Station In-charge Sudipta Kumar Sahu.
He added the woman’s body was handed over to her family after post mortem.
