Bhubaneswar: A woman was allegedly murdered by her in-laws and the body was burnt by them in Daruthenga area on the outskirts of Odisha capital.

The deceased, identified as Rubi Parida (20), had married to Deepak Bhoi (21) nine months ago after having a relationship with him. Last night, she was allegedly strangled to death by her husband and in-laws.

Later, they took the body to a nearby cremation ground and set it on fire. On being informed about the incident, police reached the spot, recovered the charred body and started investigation by registering a case.

Rubi's husband, her mother-in-law and sister-in-law have been detained by police for questioning. On the other hand, the deceased's father-in-law has absconded.
