Woman killed over dowry demand in Odisha’s Ganjam

Berhampur: A married woman was allegedly killed by her in-laws over dowry demand at Podamari village under Patapur police limits in Odisha’s Ganjam district last night.

As per a police complaint lodged by Radhakrushna Sahu, father of deceased woman Prabhasini Sahu, he was informed by her in-laws about her admission to MKCG Medical College and Hospital here last evening due to illness.

On reaching the hospital, family members of the woman found that she was declared dead by doctor. Her father has alleged that she was murdered by her in-laws, who had demanded more money as dowry after the marriage.

The reason behind the death of the woman can be ascertained after post-mortem, police said.
