Woman, male friend awarded lifetime imprisonment for husband’s murder in Odisha

Balasore: A woman and her male friend were sentenced to lifetime imprisonment for murder by a local court in Balasore district of Odisha here today. The woman Tillotama Das and her accomplice Mitesh Parida were convicted of murdering the former’s husband Jayadev Das five years back. They were awarded the sentence in the additional district and sessions judge court (III) in the afternoon.

As per reports, Jayadev Das, a native of Mala village within Khantapada police limits, was sleeping at his home when he was mercilessly hacked to death. Police after getting information, started probe and during the course of investigation, it came to the fore that Jayadev’s wife Tillotama and her paramour Mitesh had carried out the crime. The duo was arrested and later produced in court.
