Woman, paramour found dead on railway tracks in Odisha’s Balangir

Balangir: Mutilated bodies of a woman and her alleged paramour were recovered from railway tracks of Muribahal railway station at Salepada village in Balangir district early this morning.

The deceased have been identified as Puja Rana of Baladha village and Krushnachandra Rana of Ghantabahal village.

Sources said the two were in illicit love relationship since long. However, families of both the deceased had been opposing their relationship and   lodged police complaints on numerous occasions. Many a time, the cops attempted to settle the case by inviting both the families for a mutual discussion, but in vain.

Last night, Puja’s husband and  family members of Krushnachandra visited Muribahal police station to settle the case amicably. However, the woman insisted on staying with her paramour. Finding no option, both families allowed them to stay together.

Early this morning, the two were found dead on the railway tracks Muribahal railway station. However, it is yet to be ascertained whether the two died by suicide or it is a case of murder.
