Woman, paramour kill husband in Odisha’s Ganjam

Berhampur: A woman and her paramour allegedly murdered her husband at Balipindi Bandha under Buguda police limits in Odisha’s Ganjam district.

The deceased has been identified as Silu Meher (32). Accused Maheshwari and Deepak Sahu have been detained by the police.

As per reports, Silu had absconded six months ago after committing theft. In the meantime, his wife Maheshwari developed an extramarital affair with Deepak Sahu of Dhenkanal.

Three days ago, Deepak had come to Buguda to meet the woman, during which they decided to marry each other at a temple in the area.

On knowing about the incident, Silu reached Buguda last night and confronted the two who were hiding at a house located near Malijhola temple.

As Silu opposed the planned wedding, Deepak and Maheshwari strangled him to death. Police managed to nab the two accused when they were trying to flee after dumping the body.

Acting on a complaint lodged by the deceased’s brother, police registered a murder case and detained the two.
