Woman poisons children before trying to kill self in Odisha Capital

Bhubaneswar: In a shocking incident, a woman poisoned her three minor children causing death of two of them in Bhubaneswar today afternoon. The woman also consumed poison after administering poison to the three children.

As per reports, neighbours of the woman, a resident of Mendhashala area under Chandaka police limits, spotted her wreathing in pain at her house at around 12.30 PM. Also, her three minor children were found frothing at their mouths.

After being asked, the woman told neighbours she consumed poison after administering the toxic substance to her children.

The four were then rushed to the Capital Hospital in an ambulances. While two boy children aged 2 and 3 years succumbed while undergoing treatment at the hospital, the one-year-old girl child has been battling for life and was shifted to Sishu Bhawan in Cuttack.

The woman is also in critical condition and undergoing treatment at the Capital Hospital.

One of the woman’s neighbours said she was working as a daily wage labourer.
