Jajpur, Apr 26:

In yet another case of post-poll violence in Odisha a woman sarpanch and her husband were allegedly attacked by supporters of the ruling Biju Janata Dal in Jajpur district, reports said.

According to reports, Binjharpur sarpanch Anu Jena and her husband were today allegedly attacked by a group of men owing allegiance to the ruling BJD.

A complaint is yet to be registered with the local police, sources said.

While the sarpanch has herself escaped with minor injuries, her husband’s hand has suffered fractures in the attack, sources said.

Both are said to be undergoing treatment at the local hospital.
However, police sources refused to term it as post-poll violence and said it was due to a family dispute.
