Bhubaneswar: Three police personnel, including a woman Sub-Inspector (SI), were suspended for dereliction of duty in Odisha’s Nayagarh district.
Nayagarh Superintendent of Police (SP) Rahul Jain suspended Sadar Police SI Hasina Pradhan, Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Rajeswari Nayak and Constable Purnachandra Mahapatra for dereliction of duty.
A series of thefts were reported from Golagola village under Nayagarh Sadar police limits Monday (July 1) night. The thieves stole gold ornaments and cash worth above Rs 20 lakh from the village.
Soon after the theft, A few villagers had rushed to Nayagarh Sadar police station to lodge their complaints. But, the cops refused to accept the complaints and asked the villagers to visit the police station next morning.
