Bhubaneswar: A woman sustained grievous injuries after she was stabbed by a masked man in Odisha’s Cuttack city today.

The incident took place in Dolamundai area of the Silver City in the afternoon. The victim, an employee of a women’s beauty parlour, was rushed to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack, sources said.

The masked man stabbed the woman soon after a brief altercation and fled the spot, sources added.

“The masked man got engaged in an argument with the woman near the beauty parlour in the afternoon. Soon he pulled out a knife from his pocket and stabbed the woman before fleeing the spot,” said a local.

On being informed, police reached the spot and rushed the victim to SCB, he added. The condition of the woman is stated to be serious, sources said.
