Bhubaneswar: The police today arrested a woman teacher for allegedly submitting fake certificates to secure the job in Bolangir district of Odisha today.
“We have arrested Mrunmayee Panda, a Hindi language teacher at Randa High School under Puintala block in Bolangir on charges of submitting fake certificates at the time of her appointment,” said Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Tofan Bagh.
Panda allegedly submitted fake intermediate (Plus II) and Hindi degree certificates to secure the job. Bolangir District Education Officer (DEO) Dhruba Charan Behera had lodged an FIR in this regard with police, sources said.
The police had detained Panda yesterday, sources added.
“Three more teachers, who had submitted fake certificates during their appointment, have absconded since the detention of Panda. The police have searched several locations at Puintala, Belpada and Bangomunda areas of the district to trace the absconded teachers,” said a source.
